Venimus Vedimus Vicimus !!
One year ago, our dream of walking the entire 490 mile length (800 km) of the Camino De Compostella, became a reality for us today at 1:30pm. WE MADE IT !
As soon as our tear soaked eyes were able to focus, we asked a fellow peregrino if he would take a photo of us. Here we are in front of the magnificent 10th century Cathedral Santiago De Compostella. This photo was taken just moments after our arrival.
We are staying at a Parador right in the cathedral square. We will be here for 3 nights. Monday we leave by train for Madrid. Tuesday, the 4th, we board the aircraft for our return home!
Thank you Lord Jesus for getting us here safely.
On a personal note to my son Frank: Frank, it is now the time to pay your little brother, Chris, the $100 you owe him as we have officially finished our journey.
Tomorrow, sadly, will be our last post.

God is good!!

Thank you Jesus, is so right. I can’t believe that you made it until the very end – you must feel so wonderful and basking in His Light. You must feel so elated and now able to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Have a wonderful flight back to Santa Barbara after a few days of relaxation.

Not ever having heard of the Camino, when you told us last year that you were going, yes, we thought you were crazy. “Let’s get this straight, you are going on vacation to walk everyday for 2 months, can’t you just take a cruise in the Bahamas?!?”. After learning about the significance of the journey, we were all for it. After you trained for a year, we knew it was serious! I know when you set your sights you make it happen. I also know that Mom doesn’t quit! We are very proud (and relieved that you are safe and sound) and we can’t wait to see you! What an inspiration! Congratulations!
Chris, don’t spend the money in one place 😉

Hi Mike & Angie,
Congratulations seems too inadequate a word to commend you for your accomplishment. Maybe Angie can teach me a couple of good Italian words for phenomenal ! 🙂
Take Care

Congratulations, Mike and Angie! Of course, Mar the substitute teacher, could not write from work as they block us from sites they know nothing about. I was overjoyed to read you completed the journey as I read this when I first got to work. I was blocked from writing a reply, so here is my reply hours after I first tried!
What a feeling of accomplishment you both must have! You can now truly relate to how many pilgrims felt as they journeyed in faith years ago. Congratulations, again. Enjoy your time for relaxation. Angie, I can only imagine the many subjects you have seen that will inspire you in your art! Love you both!
Love,
Mar

Congrats, Angie & Mike! We’ve enjoyed following your adventures and applaud you not only for completing this remarkable journey but for still enjoying each other’s company (culinary quibbles aside…).
We look forward to Angie returning to aqua — an exercise that won’t exacerbate her foot pain.
Safe return.

Whew! Talk about a “life experience” you did it.
