1 day & 6 miles to go!
Hard to believe that we have been walking the Camino for 1 month, 2 weeks & 3 days! Yea & we are still alive & greatly anticipating tomorrow!
I hope all of you have enjoyed this blog as much as we have greatly enjoyed reading your emails. I was reflecting on the more than 40 posts we have made. Many of them had a degree of humor in them. I reflected on that. We hope that no one believes that walking the Camino is a frivolous or funny experience. From the beginning, this Camino walk has been first and foremost a spiritual journey for us.
A daily 6 – 8 hour walking journey starts with our prayers and reflection. After prayers our minds are quiet. At other times ,we observe new surroundings and pay attention to the trail conditions . Occasionally, the quiet is broken by a passing pilgrim and “buen Camino” or hola! or “buenos dias” is briefly exchanged. Usually the only time Angie & I meaningfully talk is during our brief lunch break.
After the walk, the atmosphere changes! The bars are filled with everyone you have seen on the day’s walk! There is much laughter & fun. Completely a different experience from the day’s walk. We all made it through the challenges of the day & now it’s time to relax. It is also at this time, Angie & I sit down & write this blog.
Before I forget, I want to publicly thank Angie for handling the myriad of translations. Angie is fluent in Spanish which here is a necessity as few Spaniards speak English.
God willing we will be publishing the next blog tomorrow in Santiago de Compostella – the end of a fantastic journey – Thank You Jesus!
Such a blessing!! Thank you for the prayers that you have said for everyone and your dedication on this journey

Dear Angie and Mike,
You lead by example via your commitment to God, one another and your friends and family.
By completing the journey on the Camino and withstanding its challenges, you demonstrate your leadership once again. Very proud to know you.
We all celebrate as you cross the ‘finish line!’
Best,
Valerie

Hey, Michael and Angie, someone in their 80’s wrote you but I beat her as I am 87 years of age. How I have loved reading about your experiences on this long, long trip. Thank you for sharing your experiences and I am waiting to learn that you are at the end of your journey. The Lord has been with you on this trip every step of the way.
Love,
