We left Leon on Saturday. We really wanted to spend a month there! Did a 14 mile walk to Villar Mazarife. This was monumental as at this point we have walked 306.5 miles with 183.5 to go!!
On Sunday we did 9 miles to Hospital de Orbigo. Monday was 10.5 miles to the big city of Astoria. We now have approximately 164 miles to go.
Next two days will be very tough & challenging mountain climbing. Here are some photos of the last few days.

I love the daily updates. Knowing the number of miles you have walked makes my daily routine here seem like a “walk in the park.” Perhaps this will give me the energy to face the 3rd grade students that I am teaching these last few weeks of school. To keep their attention, I literally stand before them the entire day! Well, that seems so minor compared to hundreds of miles of walking! Good luck on the next two days of challenging miles! You are in my prayers as always!

Way to go!!! You two are totally amazing and have persevered through sooo much. Very life-changing.
We did 16 miles yesterday and 14miles tomorrow on Camino Portuguese….the camino here is extremely different than yours. This one is mostly wooded paths along rivers with lots of trees, ferns, wildflowers, hamlets, gardens and vineyards.
We are tonight at the Parador in Pontevedra and arrive in SDC in 3 more days…this is child’s play compared to what you both have done, but it has not been easy!!!

Congratulations! 16 miles a lot. We are so proud of you and Alex. But be careful & do not over do it.
If you see William in SDC, please give him a big hug for us and let him know he has been in our prayers.
Don’t forget to drink ample water and use sunblock. We will toast the Camino together in Santa Barbara. We will reach Santiago De Compostella on May 31st.

How are your legs and feet doing now??
I see from the map you have 750 feet of vertical today but that is probably nothing when compared to your early days in the Pyrenees.
Mike, do you want to go into the Chariot business? We have the horses.
Chris and I sure enjoy the postings and photos. I enjoy following the map and reading up on each leg.

Hi Mark & Chris, so good to hear from you. Weather has been good so I put the poncho away for a while.
Legs & feet are “hanging” in there. I really need to stay off of them for a few days.
Mark, we actually look at these climbs as challenges…. of course we don’t mind level but sometimes it gets boring.
Mike says your in for 7 points on the chariot biz!
Lola loves Chris… so all is well.
