Monday May 6th Update
Now that we realized Angie’s backpack was the cause of her leg & foot healing problems, we took decisive action on Monday. We found out there is a company that will pick up backpacks and deliver them to your next place of lodging. Hooray for JacoTrans! So, we shipped off Angie’s backpack. Wonderful! She completed 14 miles on Monday. Angie has a whole new attitude and she is looking forward to today’s “short” 11 mile walk!
We never realized after 250 miles, that the backpack caused these problems.
Thank you all so much for your comments and concern. We read all the comments each night and they provide the encouragement to go on.
Got to go now and get the backpack to JackoTrans!
Well, things are certainly looking up! That is a great plan that will enable Angie to walk the Camino! Good luck Mike and Angie. We continue to pray for you on this journey! We are very much in awe of you both!
Love,
Marianne

Halleluiah! Enjoy yourselves!
I see the slogan … ‘JackoTrans, leave the hauling to us!’ or ‘Take a load off while on The Way’ …
Ciao!

Good to hear you have solved Angie’s foot problem by relieving the pressure of the back pack. We have so much enjoyed following your adventure. Carry on – – – –

Honestly, I think the JackoTrans would have been the way to go for both of you from the get go. Then you could both truly enjoy the pilgrimage without so much stress on those muscles, bones and joints.
God Bless You Both!

Hey you two…don’t you remember that before you left, we said we had hired Camino Ways to transport our luggage and book our hotels?? Cost for our 6 days of walking from Tui to SDC with a Parador upgrade in Pontevedra is $550 per person which includes breakfasts and all dinners with wine, plus transporting our luggage. You were so amazed when we told you how inexpensive it is…..but, this was 6 days before you left and we are sure you had much more on your plate to think about and do.
We are in Lisbon now and we start our walk on Sunday, May 12, so we plan to be in SDC on the 17 th, God willing—the same day William hopes to arrive with his son’s ashes. We hope we shall meet him!
Thank you for all you have shared on your blog…it has been a priceless treasure to us and it shows your amazing dedication and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!! Love and God’s Blessings, Debbie & Alex

Hi Debbie & Alex,
We are excited for you both and want to wish you a “Buen Camino”. May the Lord watch over you along “The Way”.
As far as us prebooking the Camino, we decided a year ago, not to. We choose to walk the 490 miles with all of our belongings on our back.
Hope you have a wonderful experience and may God Bless you both.
Much Love,
Mike & Angie
